Clapham Parish Design Statement

The Parish Council has set up a working group which is developing a 'Parish Design Statement'.  Once approved by SDNPA (in early 2018, we hope), the final document will provide useful practical guidelines for anyone submitting a planning application in the Parish, and should help to ensure that applications are approved first time around.

So far, the group has carried out a survey of the Parish as it is today, so that we have an accurate record of the features, look and feel of both the built areas and the all-important surrounding countryside.  Based on this, we've carried out a series of walks so that residents can share their own ideas on what is important to them.  We'll repeat the same walks in the Spring,  There are sketch maps and notes available in The Junction for anyone who can't join the group walks.

What we've learnt on these walks will be shared - and more input gathered - at a couple of open meetings; the first of these is on Saturday 25th February in Clapham Church, from 2-5pm (refreshments provided) [CPDS_OpenMtg_25Feb17 [pdf] 3MB].  Then residents' feedback will provide the basis for the planning guidelines themselves.
